Jude Owen
Dispute Resolution Partner

Jude was called to the Bar of England & Wales before dual qualifying as a barrister and solicitor-advocate. Jude can represent clients in all civil courts in England & Wales, at every level. Jude has over 20 years’ experience at the sharp end of complex civil litigation and has gained a reputation as a formidable ally for those navigating complex litigious issues. Jude serves a nationwide clientele combining deep technical mastery, with a direct 'no nonsense' philosophy, which cuts through the noise of litigation and strikes at the heart of the issues.

Her practice is defined by a dual expertise in private client and commercial sectors including but not limited to Contested Probate & Trusts, Commercial Contracts, Property & Construction Litigation and Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) ethics and disputes, with a niche practice in combining her unique intersection of probate & corporate disputes with AI disputes. These areas are rarely combined but are becoming increasingly relevant due to 'digital assets', with a rise in A.I. drafted wills and contracts which are less suited to clients’ needs.

Jude also deals with businesses and individuals where situations can be emotionally charged. Jude uses her natural compassion and patience along with her down-to-earth, direct approach to put clients at ease.

The types of work Jude carries out includes:

Contentious Probate & Trust Disputes

  • Challenges to the Validity of a Will including lack of testamentary capacity, undue influence, improper execution of a Will, Lack of Knowledge and Approval, Forgery or Fraud.
  • Claims for Financial Provision under the Inheritance Act 1975

As well as her work in representing clients, Jude also advises businesses in relation to the ethical considerations to be made when using AI tools in business. Jude often gives talks to businesses and their staff, to assist in ensuring compliance with AI rules.

Jude is a qualified, accredited Mediator authorised to practice in the United Kingdom, New York, California and several other states in the U.S. Her practice delivers client-centric solutions balancing court advocacy with alternative dispute resolution.
