Looking Ahead in 2024

After a year of growth in 2023, CEO Karen Bexley looks ahead to what awaits Bexley Beaumont in 2024. She also reveals the company’s updated vision and values.

As I look ahead to what is planned for 2024, I am excited as Bexley Beaumont looks to continue its growth journey and successes of 2023. Bexley Beaumont is great not only because of the talented individuals at the firm, but how through collaboration and a team culture, they achieve greatness together. The commitment that each person in the firm has to delivering quality, whilst embracing this team culture has been key to building the business and it is the foundation on which the firm will look to continue its development in 2024 and beyond. A very big thank you to everyone who has been supported the journey so far.

As we enter our fifth year, it is only natural that some of the things that enabled the firm to grow in its early years, will not be suitable to a firm which looks to establish itself as the boutique law firm of choice for top talent. As such, there has been an update to the vision and values at Bexley Beaumont. The vision is to be the boutique law firm of choice for top talent. Quality at the forefront. I am looking forward to welcoming more talented lawyers to the team this year. But perhaps the most significant change is our new values for 2024, which also demonstrates the maturity and development in the firm. We are committed to creating a positive, supportive environment where people pursue excellence, embrace collaboration, are empowered to take control of their career, and are energised to enjoy their work. Last year, Codex Edge named Bexley Beaumont the fastest growing top 200 law firm, an achievement we are particularly proud of, as well as being named Boutique Law Firm of the Year at the inaugural Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards. This year, I am delighted that we have been shortlisted by Legal 500 once again, this time for Innovative Law Firm of the Year. Watching talent that already exists at the firm develop is a privilege to witness, which is why I am delighted to see Trainee Solicitor Harry Jenkinson also nominated for Apprentice of the Year at the Made in Manchester Awards.

To further strengthen connections within the team, we’ve begun hosting BBCollaborate sessions, a new internal programme where we bring together partners from different practice areas to encourage the cross-referral of work. Fantastic feedback has been provided from the partners who have attended these first few sessions:

As well as the introduction of BBCollaborate, 2024 also sees the launch of BBElevate, another internal programme aimed at enhancing personal development skills and tips and tools for marketing and business development initiatives.

Bexley Beaumont has always maintained that its contribution to charity, environmental and social governance will grow in line with the business. This year we are launching the BBFoundation, a CIO. In addition, the Woodland Trust is Bexley Beaumont’s Charity of the Year for 2024.

This year I will also continue my own personal development. I am looking forward to speaking at several events throughout the year including the Legal Tech Talk in June and I have also joined the CEO Coaching Group Vistage to help support my skills as a leader.

It may be our fifth year and when we pause and reflect, we realise Bexley Beaumont has come so far, however with so many new initiatives on the horizon there is still so much to do! The passion and excitement in the team drives us to find ways to continually improve what we do and ensure we are doing the right things, for the right reasons in the right way. I am looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together in 2024!
