A rise in property finance work has led to further growth for one of the UK's fastest growing law firms.
Bexley Beaumont has announced that Bethan Watt has been elevated to the ranks of Legal Director less than 12 months after joining the firm from a practice in the City of London.
Bexley Beaumont's co-founder and Chief Executive, Karen Bexley, said that the promotion was in recognition of Ms Watt's generation of a volume of new work with lenders, brokers and borrowers across the UK since her arrival.
Ms Bexley added that the recruitment of Chantelle Leon as paralegal was yet another reflection of the contribution made by her firm's Real Estate lawyers to a "vibrant" property market.
"Bethan has slotted straight into an already high calibre team since joining in May last year.
"Her arrival has been very timely, coinciding with the decision by many lenders and brokers to expand their operations from London to many other parts of the country as the demand for their own services has grown.
"Bethan is also proof of what other lawyers across a wide range of commercial disciplines have realised; namely, that our distinct model really can allow them to develop their careers, no matter how experienced they already are."
Ms Watt's appointment as Senior Associate in May 2025 meant a return to the North West for Ms Watt, who hails from Liverpool and gained a first-class law degree from the city's John Moores University.
Ms Bexley explained that the recruitment of Chantelle Leon - who has spent the last eight years working in the Real Estate departments of both JMW and, more recently, Browne Jacobson - was a direct result of the extra work.
In January, Emma Chandler was promoted from Legal Director to Partner on the back of her role in the firm's Employment Law team delivering what Ms Bexley described as its "best year yet".
That news was followed by the setting up of a new Senior Leadership Team to support its board of directors by assuming day-to-day oversight of key finance, compliance and marketing functions
Furthermore, last month Bexley Beaumont announced that it had become one of only 38 law firms nationwide and just three headquartered in the North West to become a B-Corp.
Bexley Beaumont achieved the prestigious international standard for sustainability and governance after a rigorous two-year assessment, recording one of the highest scores of any qualifying legal practice in England and Wales.
Ms Bexley said that the milestone marked an important stage of the firm's evolution.
