Bexley Beaumont Progress 'Highly Commended' at National Awards

The firm has been highly commended in the New Law Business of the Year category at The Lawyer Awards.

It followed Bexley Beaumont's third successive shortlisting at the event - described by organisers as "the ultimate stage for legal mastery in the UK" - in only five years since opening its doors.

Bexley Beaumont's co-founder and Chief Executive, Karen Bexley, said the outcome was further welcome evidence of the impact made by the firm's distinct strategy.

Only weeks before being singled out by judges at The Lawyer Awards, Bexley Beaumont topped an influential growth ranking for the third year in a row.

Ms Bexley explained that "we set out with the objective of creating a firm capable of making a mark on the legal profession not by pursuring growth as a goal in and of itself but because of an emphasis on quality and collaboration.

"We were confident that by sticking to that approach, we would appeal both to lawyers and clients. This latest recognition from The Lawyer is an additional sign that what we are doing really is working.

"Even very experienced lawyers who have enjoyed success elsewhere increasingly know that we offer something very different to our rivals - the opportunity to determine how and with whom they wish to work along with an environment to exploit their talent to its fullest.

"The nationwide response which we have generated clearly shows the benefit of staying true to our principles. It also augurs very well for the future."

Bexley Beaumont was one of 10 firms shortlisted for the New Law Business of the Year category at The Lawyer Awards.

Nominations were invited from those firms which "do not have a traditional law firm partnership structure but at which the primary purpose is the provision of legal services".

Even before being highly commended by The Lawyer's judging panel, Bexley Beaumont had already picked up one title this year.

It was named as a joint winner of the UK Business of the Year category at the International Brilliance Awards in London in January.

Those awards were made to organisations considered by judges to "have made significant contributions in their fields, demonstrating leadership, innovation, and commitment to excellence".

Bexley Beaumont's awards success coincides with its being the firm being named as the UK's fastest growing large fee share firm in the classification compiled by Codex Edge, an independent company specialising in market research about the legal profession.

It found that Bexley Beaumont had seen its partner ranks grow by 30 per cent during the course of 2024.

The firm's placing in the latest Codex Edge report comes just a month after its impressive record was also singled out for further praise by the professional consultancy PwC due, it said, to Bexley Beaumont having "a clear plan for its direction of travel".
