Bexley Beaumont Hails Capital Success as it Ends 2025 on a High

The news that Bexley Beaumont's office in the capital has seen a surge in casework over the last 12 months has coincided with the appointment of two new senior lawyers to add further strength in depth.

Simon Cohen has become the latest member of the firm's vibrant Corporate and Commercial team, while Matthew Thom is now the fifth partner in its emerging Family division.

Their arrival takes the number of Bexley Beaumont partners based in London to 25.

The firm's co-founder and Chief Executive, Karen Bexley, said that 2025 had demonstrated the benefits of expanding the breadth of services which it now offers business and private clients.

"By investing in the very best legal talent available and the kind of experience and expertise demanded by clients, we have generated substantially more work in London and the South East.

"That is not simply a bolting on of individuals with existing caseloads but building momentum and recognition of the fact that Bexley Beaumont stands for excellence and constant improvement.

"It is something which is especially important in a very competitive environment like London.

"Having more of our lawyers and our specialisms singled out for praise in the premier legal rankings is also evidence that all their hard work is paying off.

"We are reaping the rewards of a virtuous circle of skill and effort convincing clients and peers of our capabilities and, in turn, leading to even more work."

Mr Cohen joins Bexley Beaumont after nearly 15 years spent with a successive of major law firms in London representing ultra-high net worth individuals, multi-national businesses, SMEs and financial institutions.

He has developed a substantial reputation for helping resolve complex civil and commercial disputes - sometimes extending across multiple jurisdictions - including matters relating to breach of contract, reputation management, intellectual property and the recovery of lost or stolen digital assets.

Mr Thom arrives having worked for a variety of family law practices in London and the Home Counties.

An accredited member of Resolution, the association of family lawyers in England and Wales, he regularly handles high value financial remedy cases, private law children's matters, cohabitation disputes and issues arising from domestic violence and abuse.

He and Mr Cohen bolster a London operation which has seen other key additions to its Corporate and Commercial, Intellectual Property and Commercial Real Estate team over the course of the last 12 months.

Bexley Beaumont's strong showing has seen it attract glowing reviews in the latest edition of two of the UK's leading industry rankings, Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.

Five departments - Employment, Property Litigation, Planning and Environment, Commercial Litigation and Health and Safety - have earned praise in Legal 500, while the Employment team has earned promotion to Band Three of the Chambers and Partners' classification.

Bexley Beaumont's increasing impact on the profession has also been felt at some of the premier awards events.

It was chosen as one of 10 finalists in the Outstanding Corporate Culture category at the British Legal Awards and highly commended in the New Law Business of the Year category at The Lawyer Awards.

Bexley Beaumont was named as a joint winner of the UK Business of the Year category at the International Brilliance Awards in London in January.
