Bexley Beaumont Growth Leads to Investment in Senior Team

Bexley Beaumont has announced the appointment of Nick Capper as its new Head of Compliance and Risk.

Bexley Beaumont's co-founder and Chief Executive, Karen Bexley, described his arrival as further demonstration of her firm's forward trajectory.

She added that it also provided clear evidence of Bexley Beaumont's standing within the legal profession.

Mr Capper joins after seven years in a similar role with one of the North West's biggest brands, Hill Dickinson, and spells with some of the country's best-known telecommunications operators, IT and security consultants.

His appointment coincides with the addition of the hugely experienced Partner Nick Gee to the ranks of Bexley Beaumont's Dispute Resolution and Litigation team.

Ms Bexley said: "Nick Capper is another valuable acquisition for our senior ranks because of his immense capabilities.

"Even before we launched the business, we were fully aware of our regulatory obligations and the importance of ensuring that we had a central team capable of supporting a growing roster of lawyers through whatever circumstances they and we might encounter.

"That is a fundamental reason why we have continued to invest in our management team.

"The increasing amount of effort being devoted to assessing and addressing the impact of AI on our profession along with the need for robust cyber security - areas which Nick already has substantial background in - mean that we have no doubts about his likely contribution to our future prospects.

"His decision to join is an incredible testament to the progress which we have made in our first five years, something which has convinced so many people in so many different roles within the legal industry that Bexley Beaumont is a great place to work."

Before stepping into the legal sector with Hill Dickinson in 2018, Mr Capper held risk and compliance roles with major telecoms brands, such as Talk Talk, Vodafone and Chess ICT.

Meanwhile, Ms Bexley outlined how Mr Gee's appointment would increase the strength in depth within Bexley Beaumont's dispute resolution and litigation team.

He has worked with a number of the North West's leading legal brands, including Darbys and Pannone, over the course of the last three decades, advising businesses, professionals, institutions and individuals on complex and high-value litigation.

Praised by clients for his clarity, responsiveness and tactical strength, Nick has been described as “fantastic” by the Legal 500 rankings.

His appointment takes the number of partners at Bexley Beaumont to 72 - out of an overall staff roll of 120 - after another hugely successful year for the firm.

In addition to topping a ranking of growth by firms outside the country's top 50 legal brands compiled by law industry research specialist Codex Edge for the second successive year, Bexley Beaumont was singled out for praise by the professional consultancy PwC.

It attributed the firm's success to its having established "a clear plan for its direction of travel".
