Public law deals with the relationship between individuals and public authorities. We work at the intersection of law and politics. We advise on the exercise of powers by public bodies and on the interpretation of legislation. We are particularly well placed to do this since one of our partners, a Roll A Parliamentary Agent, is accredited by both Houses of Parliament to promote private legislation. Private legislation changes the law for bodies such as local authorities, charities or private companies to give them powers beyond, or in conflict with, the general law.

We also draft amendments to public legislation. If a public bill adversely affects your interests, we can advise not only on the wording of an appropriate amendment to address the concern, but also on Parliamentary tactics. We offer a practical approach. We can also draft amendments for the Scottish Parliament and the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Our team can provide authoritative and informed advice on Parliamentary procedure-- we know Parliament inside out.

Our team also acts for petitioners against both private and hybrid legislation. We can act, in particular, for clients affected by HS2. We will develop a strategy to mitigate the impact of the project and can also, if necessary, appear in Parliament to argue your case.
