Paul is an experienced real estate disputes partner with over 16 years’ experience having previously worked at Nabarro LLP (now CMS), DLA Piper and Pinsent Masons. He has niche knowledge in the area of residential rights. Acting for both tenant management companies and landlord clients alike, advising in the difficult area of mixed-use commercial/ residential developments; including section 5 rights of pre-emption, freehold enfranchisement, RTMs as well as lease extension claims. Paul previously sat on the British Property Federation’s residential management committee advising the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government on the reforms being brought forward to remove unfair market practices such as doubling ground rents.

Paul also advises on the usual pure commercial property dispute issues including Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 security of tenure claims, drafting and advising on property notices (such as break notices, s25/26/27 notices, dilapidations/reinstatement notices), property sale and purchase contracts, rights of pre-emption, forfeiture /relief claims, party walls disputes, commercial rent arrears recovery (CRAR) and the full spectrum of real estate insolvency work.
